The Passion of Joan of Arc - one of the greatest performances of all time and a pure cinema masterpiece.

Belle de Jour - one of the best performances by the beautiful, talented Catherine Deneuve.

Diabolique - the film Hitchcock missed out on, also inspired him to make Psycho.

The Wages of Fear - a thriller that will have your adrenaline pumping. Tension on another level.

Aguirre, the Wrath of God - Werner Herzog and Klaus Kinski create a film of beauty, passion, and madness.

I Saw the Devil - a truly disturbing film of pure horror. This one stays with you long after it ends.

Breathless - Jean-Luc Godard’s noir inspired crime drama. One of the best films ever made.

Stalker - bizarre, Russian sci-fi film. Bewildering and intriguing.

Well said. Probably top on my list.

Joan of Arc, absolutely.

The Battle Of Algiers
Run Lola, Run
Once Upon A Time In The West
Siege Of Jadotville
Das Boot

If British count, (it seems maybe they shouldn't?)
The Duelists,
Ridley Scott's debut. and,
Tunes Of Glory with John Mills and Obi-Wan.

Thinking about it, there's a decent number I've seen and enjoyed.

Good thread.
