For a "flagship" school LSU should be a little more concerned about the academic performance of its STUDENT athletes. The 50+% of your student athletes not getting a degree are not all going into professional sports - not by a LONG WAY. It is an absolute embarassment to the state and the institution. LSU might be bigger and there are certainly advantages associated with that, but LaTech will ALWAYS be the state's best return on investment. Louisiana would be much better off (perhaps even moving out of the bottom 3 states in the nation in almost every category) if the legislators would come to this most obvious realization.

I am guessing this is a flame, so I don't even know if I should bother, but...

Who do you think foots the bill for your trips out to Fresno, Honolulu, Boise, and San Jose? Your great friends of the state legislature do.

The most "obvious realization" needs to be made on your part. Tech doesn't want to be grouped with ULM and Northwestern, yet they feel they belong in the class of Fresno and Boise and the like...the same programs that want nothing to do with Tech. The realization should be that for pride to be restored to college football in nrth LA, Tech needs to swallow its pride and start playing ULM every year; play NWSU and McNeese every year; join a conference with these programs. Attendence will double and triple. What's difficult about that concept?

I can't believe what I am hearing . Arrogance among Louisiana schools all suck. LSU hasn't always had the depth to be among the best. This decade things have realy changed. None of the other schools in the state have had the advantages of LSU; if they did they would have done better in division 1A; Tulane should have, but hasn't (except for Bowden/King). The danger in hating, is , you become what you hate.
