I only tip a few bucks for take out. Most restaurants have that position totally separate from waiting tables and the person is getting paid minimum wage, at least. A couple bucks from a few people an hour gives them a nice hourly wage. They aren’t serving me or refilling anything. Don’t see why I should tip even 10%. If they find some way to go above and beyond then sure, I’ll throw in more.
Now that I think about it, usually I am picking up for only myself so if my bill is around $20 then tipping $2 is 10% anyway. But it I picked up for a big group and the bill was $100 I wouldn’t suddenly tip $10.
