Not Southern (Baptist)
His/her lifestyle is very much against the SBC statement of belief.
From what I read, He was pastor of a Baptist church in Canada. He came out to his church in a sermon one Sunday, I guess becoming a She that Sunday. She was voted out by His/Her congregation the next day. There are several scriptural beliefs She is in conflict with that (I guess) her congregation found unacceptable.
Some information about Baptists. Baptist congregations are very independent. The rules for a congregation are generally established with the forming of the congregation and may be changed at the will of the congregation. This can and sometimes does happen in a church. However, the congregation is required to accept the statement of beliefs of the SBC to remain a part of that association.
You will find Baptist churches that no longer are SBC churches, having chosen to withdraw from the convention when the beliefs of the congregation changed with the beliefs of the SBC.
There is a Baptist church a short distance from my house that is not a SBC congregation. From all appearances, God continues to bless them.
