When you’re out and about, what do you assume about mask wearers? I assume the following:
1. They are uneducated
2. They are SJWs
3. They do whatever the media tells them to.
In Washington State they are doing what to governor has asked them to. I wear one in public cause I assume it makes some people feel like we are doing something proactive. I am under no delusion that it does any good....the science suggests that they only help if used in conjunction with social distancing. I am also under no delusion that masks are nothing more than merely alleviating the pressure to curb social distancing.....in fact the state has signs all over state asking “Want to go into phase 2? Wear a mask”. And it is working.....folks are donning masks and going out more.....and it is going to increase cases.
I personally think we should have never shut down to begin with and let 3-5 million die if that is what would’ve happened. The damage we have done to individual finances and the economy will last for generations.....losing a small business is not something that is easily overcome.....kids losing half a year or more of education is as bad. The impact is, in my opinion, worse with what we have done than 5 million people dying, as regrettable as that would be.
This thing was going to be a disaster either way.....and it wasn’t unexpected, we have been lucky staying ahead of these things the last 100 years or so. Going forward we need to be better prepared for the inevitable and we need to recognize that shutting NYC may be necessary but shutting down Hahira Georgia maybe not so much. Schools need online classrooms set up and ready to go.....it couldn’t cost much to have a plan. Businesses should have adapted to technology years ago.....telecommuting should be far more common than it was in January. The whole thing has been a cluster frick which has been years in the making.
