Forbes article Re Facebook in Germany

"Germany’s top court ruled on Tuesday that Facebook abused its dominance in social media to illegally harvest data about its users. As major tech companies, including Facebook, face antitrust investigations in Washington D.C., Germany’s creative interpretation of its competition and consumer protection laws could have ripple effects for Facebook in the United States, and may inspire bold actions against the tech giant."

We need GDPR here in the US. The European countries did get something right with it.

What started as a website for college kids to see who was sleeping with who, has become the number one tool enabling mass surveillance and violation of privacy along with clearly biased suppression of speech.

Nothing would make me happier than seeing that smug prick Zuckerberg watch as his empire is dismantled through anti-trust suits and the reclassifying of FB as a publisher, not a platform.

I wont hold my breath, but would be awesome.

It will be interesting to see if US DOJ and/or the state AGs actually get it done.

A lot of people do not know that Facebook tracks them around the Internet even if they do not have a Facebook account.

Barr was on Ted Cruz’s podcast yesterday and stated they will be submitting their case on Big Tech within the next few weeks.

First Macron in France (re: statues).
Now German tech companies.

What’s going on?
The US is sliding backwards, while Europeans get “it.”

You best watch yourself, Europe.
You might become the new destination(s) for the world’s tired, poor, and huddled masses—yearning to breathe free.
