Ethnic groups
Norwegian 83.2% (includes about 60,000 Sami), other European 8.3%, other 8.5% (2017 est.)
Religions
Church of Norway (Evangelical Lutheran - official) 70.6%, Muslim 3.2%, Roman Catholic 3%, other Christian 3.7%, other 2.5%, unspecified 17% (2016 est.)
I wonder if this has anything to do with that statistic.

Scandinavians in general don't practice religion. They're born into the state church but it's in name only. The churches stand empty for the most part. The minority religions are more devout because they actually have to do make an effort to become a member.
A girl I went to HS with married a Norwegian guy she met in college and lives over there. I gotta say it sounds very attractive. She teaches English, he's some kind of engineer. They're not fabulously wealthy; They have a rather modest house by middle class American standards, but they have a month or more of vacation every year, part of which they usually spend in the states. If their kids qualify for college, it's paid for as part of the social benefits package. I understand that health care can be kind of hit or miss in the rural areas, but it's very good in the cities. You may have to wait for non-urgent procedures but at least you don't have to worry about being bankrupted.
