Is this where we explain the difference between laser and hand timed and point out it’s not really impressive? Because the moron who wrote that with the NFL combine reference clearly doesn’t know. That’s about a 4.62 laser timed.

You are very close. I coached track for many years and the conversion is to round up the hundredths (even a 4.31 becomes a 4.4), then add .24. With this formula, he ran a “real” 4.64.
With that being said, the formula was devised by using extremely experienced Olympic level timers. I ran our high school electronic timing system for years. We hired hand held backup timers in case of a malfunction. I’d compare those hand held times to the FAT time and they were consistently .4 to .5 faster than electronic. Having said that, MJ probably ran around a 4.8 electronic time.
