Get a 4th Generation (2003 - 2009) with a V8. You'll save money, it's a better vehicle, and it'll still outlast you.

Look, I get that Toyota makes reliable vehicles but I am curious as to what benchmarks you are claiming that 17 year old vehicle is better.
Better ride?
Better safety?
Better gas mileage?
Better paint?
Better technology?
Better crossing Amazon rivers and middle East deserts?
