we were taught to hit with our face gear , you see what you and hit what you see this keeps your head up ,dipping your hips was the other part of if you dip your hips it lefts your head up and gives power to your hit , only fools and parapelegics dip their heads when they hit ! No body on our team ever wore a neck brace they didn't need it ! Every practice started with a drill designed to make this a habit we used it for blocking and tackling !
