I have the kobalt 80v. I bought it because it was time buy a mower, and my wife needed to mow the grass a time or two. Instead of Fielding calls about her flooding the engine/forgetting how to prime, I figured push-button start and a relatively light chassis with fwd made it a winner.
I think it was $499. A rock-bottom gas mowers is cheaper. For me, it was worth $200ish to not have her fiddle with gas and use the same battery as a weed eater (I much prefer electric weed eaters to gas, even for me).
If you're really thrifty and have a small yard, corded electric mowers are very cheap, as cheap or even cheaper than a gas one. Try it if you want to learn how big pain in the arse it can be, but if you want the peace of mind of not storing gas, push-button start, you're either willing to pay about $200 for it or not.
I'm about a 1/4 acre lot with trees and landscaping, so probably cutting about 1/2 of that. I've never used more than 50% of the battery. Noise is probably still about like that of a vacuum cleaner. You'll still likely kill it to talk on the phone. Weight really isn't much different than gas because the battery is pretty heavy.
I like it. I would buy it again

I haven't seen this in a minute on newer push gas mowers. The last few I've had, didn't have it.
