Didn't read it, but the simple reason for me is that the Saints could potentially leave New Orleans, meanwhile, the tigers will never go anywhere.
I love the Saints, had season tickets for two different stints, went to the superbwol, etc., but when Benson threatened to move them, that created the 1A (LSU) and 1B (Saints) level in my mind.
That plus, the buildup for national championship games (this will be my 4th) was more for the Saints superbowl in Miami.
The only thing the superbowl has over the the natty is that it is played on a weekend.
