Last year was justified - that call was the worst I've ever seen. So bad that it leaves only conspiracy theories to explain. "Not seeing it" just never held water. It was egregious and should have been called and absolutely changed the outcome of the game. I totally get thinking the NFL hates us after that, cause i can think of a dozen teams that receive fairer officiating and they all have new stadiums and/or marketing benefits to winning. In a world of profits where money makes the rules, i could see why the hat tips a certain direction.
This year - After we lost that bye week, it was over. This team was so injured it pained me to see them play.
Brees, for whatever reason, was terrible. If you have to resort to QB#2 to move the ball and keep putting QB#1 back in after turnovers and negative gains....you will lose every single time. We could have signed a random QB off the street and had better stats.
O-Line might as well not have been on the field. We would have been better to use reserve players not injured and plugged them in.
Thomas was double teamed the entire game. No one else could get open or catch.
Lattimore looked hurt. Jenkins was lost. Williams was suffering from PTSD.
Kamara doesn't spin out of tackles anymore. Not sure what happened to the field vision he seemed to have rookie/sophomore years.
YES, anytime we did get a significant gain, or turnover it was called back, but justifiably. And yes we did seem to have no calls (most memorably the head target on Kamara) but the refs easily could have called more..and we got away with stuff to. That TD in overtime was a receiver pushing off from defensive pass interference, i.e. real Football.
Just ranting into the void - but to sum up, we played like crap and deserved to lose. Match any deal Taysom gets. Sign Deonte Harris to long term contract. Promote Brees to the legends of the game squad.
