Jim Plunkett threw 164 TDs to 198 interceptions. I swear you people are so obtuse. RINGS aren't the only deciding factor to a QB's legacy. The numbers he puts up also factor heavily into it.

Marino had the numbers but he never got a ring. Montana had both the numbers and the rings. That's why he was always consistently ranked ahead of Marino. Want further proof he was looked on more favorably than Marino was in the 80s? Just look at the 1980s NFL All-Decade Team. Joe Montana is listed as the starting QB. Not Marino.

Ok, well let me do this little game:

Quarterback A
Career completion percentage: 57%
Career passing yards: 22,700
Career touchdowns: 153
Career interceptions: 109
Career quarterback rating: 83.4
Total Super Bowl rings: 2

Quarterback B
Career completion percentage: 52%
Career passing yards: 27,989
Career touchdowns: 212
Career interceptions: 210
Career quarterback rating: 71
Total Super Bowl rings: 4

Who’s the better quarterback?

Bradshaw and whoever the other guy is are both about even as far as I'm concerned.

Edit: Yeah...that other guy is Roger Staubach. In terms of ability...they're about the same.

Those numbers mean nothing in a vacuum. What were their YPA, TD%, and Int%? What about the index for those 3 metrics and their QB rating index.

Raw stats mean nothing out of context.
