This is difficult to do because of HIPAA. Announcing to the crowd or world that someone was faking is still HIPAA. The only way to do this is have built-in considerations such as making players stay out longer. The hard part there, as others have alluded, is keeping players from playing hurt to avoid being sat out.
But I think you could do this. Look at the average time someone spends out if they are actually hurt and make it around that time frame. Then you aren’t really punishing players who are actually hurt and need their ankle taped or something and only people who expect to come back the next play or two will avoid calling for the trainer.
