...and the Benelli Nova can't be adjusted. Stock and receiver are all one piece. I had one for a while. Was a great gun except it didn't fit me and I couldn't hit a barn with it.

In your price range.

Semi Auto: Stoeger M3000 12ga or M3020 20ga.
Mossberg 930 12ga, or SA-20 20ga.

Pump: Rem 870, Mossberg 500, Winchester SXP.

If you have a Cabela's nearby, check their used guns and see what kind of deal you might find there. I rarely buy a new gun anymore if I can find a lightly used one for less money.

My 20 gauge pump recoils harder than my 12 gauge semiautomatic.
