I guess it depends on how much you are lifting.

I use a bench/rack combo with a pullup bar that allows me to do all of my major and supplemental lifts 5-6 days per week. All together, I only spent a few hundred bucks on all of it. If I was squatting 500 lbs and bench pressing 300 lbs, I would need something sturdier, but I'm not. I found my barbell, dumbbells, and all of my weights on craigs list or facebook here and there for 50 cents to a dollar a pound.

I don’t need much. Running Greyskull with some auxiliaries that I can easily do with barbells and a pull up bar. Benching 200 right now and deadlifting 300 as my heaviest lift.

The workout equipment on FB marketplace just looks dingy and I don’t trust them about the amount of weight it can hold. Would certainly like to save $1000 though.
