quote:
Apparently not very well
One offensive lineman, regardless how good he is, cannot block the entire defense. Depending on the situation, a good lineman could possibly block 2 or 3 defenders, but that's only in certain situations. Can't judge one olineman by the score of the game. There is no other position group on a football team where the old cliche', "a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link," has greater significance than the oline. It only takes one defender to ruin an offensive play, but it takes all 11 offensive players to make it successful. Okay, I do understand there are extenuating circumstances, say, like if you have a Barry Sanders in your backfield, then it's just, "give him the ball and everybody get out his way!" LOL

Also, West Monroe acting like they did some great feat.
God damn Ruston held them to one offensive touchdown and Neville also has the two best defensive players in district healthy too.
St Thomas More held them to 6 points.
No one is shocked Neville didn't do more offensively. But their lack of depth doomed them before the game began. That isn't an excuse, it is just reality. Neville doesn't have 2,200 students, they have 900. And believe it or not not every kid in Monroe wants to play at neville.
West Monroe will get tested next week in a real road game down in Alexandria. They will need to pass the ball next week to have sustained success. The teams in Monroe absolutely suck.
