My question wasn't really how to frame one. That's pretty self explanatory. My question was more along the lines of, the jersey case seems way too big at 4" deep, so jersey case vs. regular frame with backing. I edited my post to clarify.

I wish I could do this, but I'd be out a grand, thus I'm trying to save a few bucks by buying the frame and DIY. I have 3 others that I've collected over the years, but the Ozzie Smith addition has pushed me to framing them all now.
