With how most of us on this board grew up in a Southern Christian culture, the whole Islam perspective and what it represents are so foreign to our own understandings and upbringings culturally.

But my god, if you actually sit down and read about Islam and align everything with how modern Islam cultures operate, you really come to realize just how bat shite crazy Islam is for a religion.

Like if you break it down, the founder of Islam Muhammad was actually a violent, pedophiliac son of a bitch. It’s actually an unbelievably dangerous and oppressive set of ideas. How 1/3rd of the world sees the love of God in the teachings/visions of “prophet” Muhammad blows my mind.

At least with Christianity, even with people who grew up in a Christain church and no longer believe in God, nobody being honest can be like: “you know what, that Jesus guy and his teachings are nothing but messages of hate and submission”.

The actual words written in red from Jesus are messages of unconditional love for all of humanity to take something positive from, even if one doesn’t believe in the divine nature of his teachings. Of course humans in history have used Christ’s teaching as a vehicle for evil doings, but if you just study what Jesus actually said you realize at least he was actually a good person. Muhammad was a petty, murderous POS. Nothing about Muhammad screams “the love of god”.

Like when Christians grow up in a church and then decide to leave the religion, no Christian believes that those people should be executed for leaving the religion. Some Christians are vehemently against homosexual marriages and lifestyles, but there are no Christians who actually think gays should be stoned and thrown off of roofs for being gay. Even the most zealous Christian would never even come close to believing others who don’t share their worldview must conform to their beliefs or deserve execution. Same can’t be said by Islam and not enough people point out the glaring differences.

And no, I’m not talking just about the “fringe extremists” of Islam because even most of the mainstream practicers of modern Islam hold these extremists worldviews.

No, not all religions are the same and equal. Especially Christianity and Islam.
