Don't knock people for loving LA and being immersed in their heritage. Different strokes for different folks.....
I can see why someone would want to stay in South LA to enjoy loved ones, fishing, culture, etc.
Then there are those who are career-driven and find solace in other areas where their ambitions can be satiated and grow.
Remember, there are wonderful things on the coast from Grand Isle to Venice you could never find in Manhattan and vice versa.
