Leftists are faced with a multiple choice question where all the answers are bad for them:
They cannot simply let it go and move on, it's not in their lizard DNA
If they impeach and the Senate doesn't convict the Dems won't control either chamber of congress for the next 20 years
If they impeach and the Senate DOES convict, they won't physically survive the blowback.

If the Senate convicts, it means there was sufficient evidence to convince all 47 Dems (including Manchin and Casey), plus the RINOs (Murk, Collins, Sasse, Romney), plus at least 17 more Repubs. Those votes don't fall into place without a smoking gun and very serious wrongdoing, neither of which exists.
