Welcome to Tiger Nation Jermaine!!!!!

quote:

Burton narrowed his list to Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Miami and UCLA before picking the Tigers. He told us back in March that LSU is the school he always dreamed of playing for and raved about their WR tradition, mentioning guys like Odell Beckham and Javis Landry. Even though he plays out West, Burton is from the South and made it clear he wanted to go back to the South to play his college ball. The Tigers have made him a top priority for the last year and no one recruited him harder. He took his one and only official visit to LSU earlier this month and the Tigers really put themselves in a good spot following the trip. We got the sense LSU was probably already the team to beat before the trip but his time in Baton Rouge really solidified it. He connected very well with the coaching staff and called LSU just the best overall fit for him.

What to Like: Burton is among the most gifted pass catchers in the country and is currently rated the No. 35 player nationally in both the 247Sports Composite and 247Sports. From a pure physicality and speed standpoint, Burton is among the best in the country in both areas. He has the ability to run past any corner and get vertical and the physicality to bully an opposing corner as well. You can’t press him or play him too tight and the corners who try and get physical usually end up on the ground. You can move him around from the slot to out wide and there isn’t a route he can’t run. The coaches at Calabasas rave about him as a blocker as well and he brings a certain level of toughness and dog mentality you don’t always see at the receiver position. He’s unique in his approach to the game, he’s not just content making plays, he wants to dominate and has a rare killer instinct to him. He would be a top 50 player as a safety if that’s where he chose to play because of the toughness, physicality and athleticism he brings to the table.
