Downtown is okay, but it's pretty much dead after 8-9 pm. It's much safer than Bourbon, but still use your best judgment.

Check out the Rock Hall. If you're into classical music, check out the Cleveland Orchestra (if they're in season, IDK). You can also look at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History and the Cleveland Museum of Art.

It’s funny you say that because I always felt Cleveland was “seasonal” like summer months and warmer spring/ fall months are the only acceptable time to visit but also downtown can either be dead or very busy depending on who’s playing. For example in spring ‘16 I’ve never seen it so busy when you have the Cavs in the playoffs and the Indians just starting their season.
