What you are failing to realize is that in the quantum realm we have verifiable proof that quantum particles aren't impacted by space or time. Some equations do not even use time in predicting outcomes.
Look at the double slit and electrons. shite makes no sense and the fact one photon (not electron) can pass through BOTH slits at the SAME TIME boggles our minds. Now go throw two tennis balls through the slit's. Chanced of it happening at the same time is a no go.
The way particles and waves act when observed seems to shows clearly that space and time don't mean two hill of beans to its properties.
So time is a construct for how we exist but it isn't necessarily a real thing. It is a property of our existence. What makes you think higher dimensional beings such as God obeys anything close to our own?
So what is time? Hell, even physicist give differing ideas.
