What Calipari and Coach K did was that let their assistants do a dirty job and deals. So they’re innocent. It’s just a bad luck for WW that he got caught on the tape with a middleman, who was being spied by the FBI.

Or maybe the FBI isnt even monitoring him. I guarantee through all this, Kentucky,Kansas, Duke, and unc are completely untouched

Maybe after vacating two Final Four appearances he found the straight and narrow?

Until head coaches are held responsible for the actions of their assistants things will never change.
If a head coach tells his recruiting coordinator “I want the Smith kid, do what it takes to get him but I don’t want to know the details”. You think that makes the coach innocent?
And if the head coach is actually unaware of what his assistants are doing either he is incompetent or his assistants don’t respect his authority. The head coach is totally responsible for who he hires and the actions they take. Ignorance of the facts or plausible deniability should never be a head coaches excuse.

Well, they can refuse that they didn’t know what was going on, blah blah...it’s all assistants’ fault according to them.

^This. I worked with a former assistant basketball coach that was arrested, then subsequently fired for being that guy.
Story goes like this. Team was literally a shot away from making the final four, in and out from the corner. His alama mater calls and wants to hire him, small school in NY. He weighs his options. Stay and be treated like royalty everywhere he goes or take the job. He stays.
Players come to him and start asking for handouts. He tells the HC, and is told -“ take care of the players.” He starts falsifying expense reports and dishing out the cash. He gets caught, arrested, convicted, fired. Career over.

Right because Kentucky has no history in basketball and terrible facilities.
The real question is why top players would come to LSU.
Not saying KY is clean. Likely not. But if anything looks fishy it’s coming to a school that oozes basketball mediocrity.
You post actually makes LSU look worse.

Because their HC isn’t stupid enough to do what wade did.
