1. Nashville: great mix of fun and unique along with a strong economy.
2. New Orleans: love the history, food, music, and built environment. Nola would be in the top spot if not for the crime and poor infrastructure.
3. San Diego: America's finest city. Love that weather.
4. Alexandria, VA: Great suburb of DC that has its own sense of place.
5. A few Carolina cities in the mix for the fifth spot: Charleston is historic but small and a bit isolated. Raleigh is pleasant and family friendly, but can feel a little bland. Charlotte is a nice midsize city but kind of corporate. All are nice places.
