How Kathleen Kennedy still has a job is completely mind blowing. She’s singlehandedly destroying Star Wars for the millions of people that made it what it is today.

We're going to find out one day that she was an intern at Lucasfilm during the days of the original movie and George Lucas smacked her on the arse or Mark Hamill called her "sweet tits" and from that moment forward, she set in motion a decades long plan to Keyser Soze the franchise.

Its less sordid then that sadly.

Kathleen Kennedy is one of the great big movie producers in the history of Hollywood. She has delivered the goods on a ton of movies... as a producer.

You surround her with great writing and directing talent and she will crush anything before her. If you put her in a position to have to determine if this is good or garbage... she'll deliver a movie no matter what. It might be a complete turd of a movie, but she will have everything at the director's fingertips. She is a producer... not the head of a studio.

She got the head of Lucasfilm job because George Lucas, finally, realized what he wanted on the screen, and what got on the screen were two different things. Kathleen Kennedy is part of the extended Steven Spielberg/George Lucas family of film making. Lucas knew he could provide the basic ideas and guidance and she would bring it home. And by golly she did just that. She was an amazing second banana to Lucas.

Then he sold to Disney, retired, and they put her in charge. Which is the worst thing in the world they could have done to Kathleen Kennedy. Kennedy is not the benign guiding hand that has a clear vision of what she wants for the franchise. She's the technocrat that is handed a problem of "get this in the can" and can do it.
