Don't do it.
Think of her favorite thing(s) to eat that you can prepare, put together something at home.
If you have exactly zero cooking skills, go to Whole Foods and buy a few ounces of three different cheeses: one soft, one goat, one firm/aged. Get fresh strawberries, raspberries, walnuts, honey, olives/cornichons, a baguette, and at least one bottle of champagne. Arrange cheeses on a platter w/olives & sliced baguette, pile up the walnuts & drizzle honey over them. Open the champagne.
Dining out on Valentine's Day is a rookie move.

Yea I would do this, but anyone should be able to make a cast iron so hot it makes the smoke alarms go off after the butter hits it and then shoot a steak on there for 90 seconds a side. Finish it in the oven to your doneness preference and call it a day. Get a big piece of meat then cut it up over some greens and you look like a god
Your idea to do a meat/cheese plate is a great one

Thanks for the suggestion. A good cheese board is one of my go to moves. I also cook at home all the time. She specifically asked if we could go out to eat tonight so I'm trying to see if there is any place worth a dam I can get in tonight without a reservation.

go to Whole Foods
I went last night to pick up items for Vday dinner. They have special booths set up specifically for VDay items. Lobster tails, steak, chocolate strawberries etc... all for very good prices.
In regards to OP - Even if you have failed to make reservations and would like to eat out do not despair. Go to a couple places and see if you can weasel two seats at the bar for dinner. Oftentimes a lot of people forget about sitting and eating at the bar in a restaurant.
