Age 11-25 loved college and NFL football.

1/9/12 : crushed my spirit.
Saints screw job : may never watch NFL games again.

Pro basketball : super teams controlled by a handful of superstars. top heavy. Only 6 teams that can truly win NBA Championship this year.

Baseball: follow the Astros. Season too long.

THESE ARE THE REASONS YOU AND PEOPLE LIKE US DONT CARE ABOUT THIS ANYMORE

Kids
age
their hobbies
our hobbies
This mostly.

But you also justify not watching a product like the NFL because it's no longer the controlled violent sport you grew to love. In my lifetime I've scene the following rule changes off the top of my head:

1)Stiffly enforce incidental contact beyond 5 yards.
2) In the grasp for QBs( good rule)
3) Hook slide for QBs
4)QBs can ground the ball out of the Pocket with no penalty
5)QB "strike zone" can't hit/ touch the QB below the knees or above shoulders
6)can't drive the QB into ground. Must gently caress to the ground without falling n him too violently

7) Defenenseless receiver has made intimidation/ punishment of receivers a thing of the past. Middle of the field is wide open.

8) NFLs "Greatest Hits" were the best selling videos since we love our controlled violence. Thing of the past.

Outside of a facemask a defender could legally crumple an offensive player to the ground . If you fall it's a good tackle.

Makes it much easier to not be as interested in a game you no longer recognize with the obsession with protecting offenses/ promote scoring.

I definitely care a lot less, but that's mostly age. The NFL is still the most appealing to me and has the most parity, bad calls are going to happen and we have to accept that at some point.

Other reasons that disinterest me...

-the warriors dominance is too predictable
-MLB regular season is too predictable with half the teams not trying to compete, sabermetrics have taken away some intrigue
-Tennis has been between Fed, Nadal, and Djoker for almost all big events for the last 15 years. Taken away some intrigue for me, but they've also produced some unreal matches against each other
-Hockey regular season means less when half the teams make the playoffs
-CFB is too predictable and not near enough parity IMO. The best teams get the best players, biggest budgets, and best facilities. I'm not sure how anyone else can compete...
