He’s not a fan. I lived in that area when he was the writer. It was just a job for him. He’s from the NE.

Prisco has always fancied himself very knowledgeable and important in nfl circles(he’s not). A decade ago give or take a few years(maybe right after the SB) Payton blew him off in some capacity when he was doing a “preseason tour” for his sports line writing duties I believe. Since then he’s been very anti Payton/saints.

Prior to that he was IN LOVE with Payton’s aggressive play calling and coaching philosophy. I can’t steess enough how often he would rave about the saints offense prior to the shunning. He took things personally and this is what you get.

ETA: as was mentioned it got worse when mike smith became the falcons coach. He was buddy buddy with smith when he coached the jags defense as smith would come on his show.
