The Mueller team has now made three public announcements. For the most part he has allowed his court filings to speak for the investigation.

For two years, stories, whether accurate or not, had no serious political consequences because Ryan would never do anything. When the Democrats gained the House majority, news stories as potential evidence to start essentially legal proceedings, Mueller's office has an interest in correcting. His team is not yet prepared to answer questions under subpoena from the House in an impeachment proceeding.

He wants to finish the investigation in its own good time and will release findings when they are ripe.

If Trump tries to suppress Mueller's report, the House will simply subpoena him and he will testify.
