It'll probably always be my favorite movie not only because of nostalgia but I just think it's a great movie. When I was little I was really into horror and for some reason my mom let me rent anything I wanted, I saw things like Fright Night, The Howling, Salems' Lot, Vamp, Waxwork, all when I was 5 or 6. Fright Night was special in that one scene it would be a comedy/spoof almost, the next scene it would be straight horror, and the next scene it would be sexy. It all perfectly meshed together and along with Brad Fiedel's amazing score it just had an atmosphere that was captivating. It also had amazing makeup and special/practical effects that unfortunately were phased out after the 80s. Jerry Dandridge will always be the coolest motherfrickin vampire ever, I never understood why Chris Sarandon never became a bigger star. And I liked the sequel btw, Julie Carmen was sexy as hell and that one scene of the vampire on roller skates coming down the hallway through the fog was terrifying

Great movie. I always think of the scene where Jerry walks down the stairs and hears Brewster scream when he sees what he did to Amy. There’s something about his pause and sadistic, satisfied smile.

I loved Fright Night and I'm with you on The Howling and the sequels but the first time I saw Salem's Lot scared the shite outta me I was a little kid and when I seen the kid raise up out of the coffin I ran like my hair was on fire to my bed and put the covers over me trying to hide.
