Jurassic Park the movie was great, but the book was phenomenal. Just so much more depth to the whole story.

IMO it's the other way around. The book is great but the movie was phenomenal in its time. The book was a bestseller but it wasn't absolutely shattering any records in 1990-1991. The movie was the highest grossing film ever at that time and still one of the highest ever adjusted for inflation.
The movie's blend of practical and CGI effects to produce realistic dinosaurs was absolutely incredible in 1993. Remember that people had never seen anything like it before at that time and were blown away by it. The movie changed what was possible for cinema.
I'm not saying it's a better version of the story or better storytelling etc. but the topic title doesn't specify - it just asks about movies that are better than the book and IMO the Jurassic Park movie is an incredible achievement whereas the book is an entertaining science fiction story.
