AIDS was the plague that was supposed to do that according to some.

Conversely, some say war actually weakens the Alpha Male gene pool.

I believe it was Heinlein that predicted the male gene pool to be all beta cuck one day with very very few alphas remaining because of our tendency to respect Women's feelings fsr too much at time.
