There is still one in my hometown; I don't know how/why and what it's purpose is for still being open.

It was opened in 1985. It still has VHS tapes on racks along with DVDs. It's like a museum. I assume it must be a hobby store for someone bored with money like the used record store that sells maybe 1 record a week. Because I don't know how the owner could still pay rent if this was his serious source of income.

That area of the county is full of old people though - and just like you still see them use checks at the Supermarket - maybe there is a segment of the population still renting VHS in a video rental store.
