Lsu on a Saturday night for a quarter and a half***
So people don't get excited to watch LSU play Southeastern, Louisiana Tech and a shitty Ole Miss team get their arse kicked in the rain? Shocking. If Miami would have been in Tiger Stadium it would have been rocking.

If the game is meaningful, it’s very special. If not, meh.
Question is did it used to be hopping on a Saturday on an average or below average game?
Who cares anyway.

This. LSU isn't the only program that doesn't keep the stadium packed for 4 quarters while playing some directional school. And yea, there was a time when Tiger Stadium was rocking on every Saturday night. But times are different now. You can watch every game on TV from anywhere in the world. So people aren't going to be falling over themselves to shell out $100+ for tickets, parking, concessions, travel, etc. when they can watch at home. And the schools don't really care because they're making more money than ever BECAUSE of the TV deals that allow people to watch from anywhere.
But in an apples to apples comparison, when hosting a top 10 match-up on a Saturday night, the environment in Death Valley is hard to beat.
