The Rant has become a barren wasteland where optimism is met with jeers, derision, and disgust. Our opponents are held up as the models to which we should strive, our athletic department is considered a comedy of errors and incompetent even in their successes, and everybody is a sage badass from the comfort of their anonymous profile.

It’s a miserable fricking place. For what it’s worth, though, I’m on board with your sentiment. And don’t listen to the tools in here or the lazy national narrative—while it isn’t like we’ve had a heisman level QB in recent times, last year Etling achieved the 3rd highest average ypg in LSU history while throwing only 2 INT’s last year, Jordan Jefferson was actually one of our most successful and record-setting QB’s ever, Jamarcus Russell was a hoss in college (regardless of his NFL career), so was Rohan Davey, Matt Mauk and Matt Flynn won NC’s, and we’ve had 7 QB’s drafted in the past 15 years. None were necessarily world-beaters in the NFL, but our QB play has not been nearly as bad as our reputation suggests.
