I'm not sure if it was built immediately afterwards. Maybe so. The one on Perkins was the closest to LSU when I was a student. It wasn't a Super Walmart with a full grocery section.
I remember when someone killed that security guard before it closed. Me and my college girlfriend had walked out about 5 minutes before it happened.

Pretty sure she was like a 60 year old female BRPD Officer in uniform. Totally sickening incident. It was like killing grandma.
