Maybe the unit is partially frozen during the day and fully freezes up at night when outside temp drops? Have you tried completely turning the unit off for a day and let it completely thaw out

Yes, it was off for an entire day last week. Worked fine for a week then back to this. I'm guessing that's why he thinks there is a leak since it keeps freezing up.
