list from best to worst

Rubicon Hardrock
Rubicon
Sahara
Sport
Base

from my understanding, the rubi's have the electronic sway bar disconnect and diff lockers. the sahara is basically a "luxury"/interior package. the sport/base might as well be the same vehicle.

i'm also in the JK market, and have been told to look at the 2012s or newer. the '07-'11 have the crappy motors and axles. the motors need new gaskets fairly early and the gears in the axle don't make up for the extra weight/larger tires after modding.

as far as off road options

44 in the front, front and rear electric lockers, electric front sway disco, slightly better rear axle shafts and 4:1 transfer case.

Some of these options are able to be purchased on other editions
