Contiguous states, I'd say Bellingham, Wa would be up there.
Sea
Mountains
Mild climate
University town
Outdoor activities abound
Close to Vancouver and Seattle
Lots of breweries if that's your thing
Close to Cascades and San Juans
Lot less rain than Seattle

I spent a summer in Bellingham. My uncle owned a law firm there and invited me to come work for him for the summer after my freshman year at LSU.
