I absolutely refuse to watch this show. I read the book years ago (it is awesome) and the native american female character is mute due to her tongue being cut out. This corresponds to one of the biggest reveals in the book ( I won't do any spoilers) and largest part of the whole story. They are having this character speak in the TV show because "having the only female character mute" isn't corresponding with SJW culture. I'm don't even know how they are going to deal with the whole point of the book now without that essential part of the plot.

I read the book as well and agree it was terrific. I didn’t even know there was a TV show. The mute woman speaks? How the hell are they going to handle the end of the story? I have to say the ending was a letdown for me but I’m sure others will like it.

mute characters in TV are usually a no-no. THis might be part of it.
i read the book when it came out. It was really long and slow, but I enjoyed it. I really like Dan Simmons. His books are generally excellent.
