Just to be sure, you're saying the QB coaching that Booty got at LSU was on par with David Cutcliffe right? Because that's how your statement sounds.

ETA: Under Dinardo. Because that's what the Booty quote is referencing.

I'm saying if you are Eli Manning or any elite true NFL-QB starting talent, you could have been coached in college by DiNardo for a year and then Saban/Jimbo...and you would have made it to the league.

He got beat out by Rohan Davey. If he was really elite NFL/QB level talent like Manning, it wouldn't have mattered that he played a year for DiNardo. He never would have lost the job to Davey.

That's my point. LSU coaching staff turnover didn't ruin his NFL chances. He just wasn't good enough. Same with MLB and the article quoting him mentioning all those other guys who went into the majors at the same time as Booty. They all had great careers. I'm sure they had adversity to work through too.

Guy's ego blinds him to the fact that he just wasn't good enough at either sport to be elite. A great athlete by normal guy standards, but not elite professional talent.

Not to mention Davey had been with the program since his redshirt freshman season in 1997. He had 3 years under Dinardo's staff, but that didn't seem to stop him from becoming a productive starting QB in the SEC. It's not Dinardo's fault Booty didn't make it. It's Booty's fault.
