Miles got fired because for YEARS he was asked to make changes to the offense. Every year he said he would and didn't.

Just because you keep saying this doesn't make it true.

Link one bit of audio or a quote where he states he was going to change the offense. Just one.

Miles did not get fired for going 10-2 and 9-3.

So if he were winning 12 games or more a year and he was going to the SEC championship game and NC every third year or so but did it with the same offense he still would've been fired?

What you dummies fail to realize is that there is a lot of negativity out there and a negative culture surrounding our offense and it tremendously affects the recruitment of QB's

If the fans are to blame, maybe the brass should've thought of that before they hired a career losing coach that no one else in the country wanted. Maybe hire someone that has a reputation of developing QBs.

And I'm sure none of the negativity about the offense is tied in any way to him meddling in Canada's offense then firing him after one year. That's how all great offenses are built.

And this is a prime example (as were the other replies that don't believe it was the offense), of how utterly clueless our fans are.

I'm not going to do the homework for you. OFFENSE, and more importantly, the ever increasing divide between Bama and LSU WAS the reason Miles was fired.

Where was the divide? The majority of it started with our inability to develop QB's. Being the MOST important position on the field, it was something being used on the recruiting trails and it significantly affected our recruiting efforts (and not just with QB's).

Thus, the brand of LSU was being significantly damaged. The reputation was being damaged. And Miles was specifically told to fix this, and he didn't/wouldn't/couldn't.

Did you pay attention to our QB and passing numbers and our rankings? Do you think QB's were aware of this? This took a toll on us.... and we are STILL paying the price. Ed O is up against serious headwind trying to change it. Fan apathy was also at an all time high because of our approach to offense. Think that affects business?

And so, recruits want to see the change. And how to you show that without a QB? The Canada hire was questionable considering Ed's understanding that we had to recruit and develop top level QB's in order to be successful. As much as I like Ensminger, O just went all in on a 12 with the dealer showing a ten.

I've said all along that if Ed O cannot change the QB culture, he will fail quickly. No QB committed last year. And our only hope for this year seems to be Gunnell. You don't get him, or some other high profile QB, and it may be over for O.

But make no mistake about it. Miles was fired because of his inability to change the offense to something the would help build our brand and reputation, especially with QB's.

You think it's any secret that Clemson came on strong and stays strong because QB's? Or how about Georgia? And as horrible a coach Fisher is, his one saving grace is that he can coach QB/offense.

So, I do agree with you that the hires by O are not indicative of putting urgency on the QB. I so badly want Ensminger to be successful. We'll see. To me 8-4 is possible. But more importantly to me, do we see hope in our QB's? And do we land and great one this year? And does Ed O start putting urgency on that position EACH YEAR? That's 50% of the equation.
