To convict him, you would've had to completely ignore the cop that perjured himself on the stand.
He also invoked the 5th when asked if he had planted evidence.

Most everybody "thinks" he did it, but a lot people, in hindsight, think the jury had room for reasonable doubt.

This case isn't nearly as simple (in terms of black vs white) as people make it out to be.

Once Mark Furhman invoked the 5th testifying when called by the defense, he couldn’t do anything other than continue invoking the 5th for the rest of the questions he was asked. The 5th amendment doesn’t allow someone to pick and choose what questions they answer. In Furhmans case, F. Lee Bailey knew he had Furhman by the balls once Furhman denied EVER saying the “N” word. The Furhman tapes burried MF and allowed the defense to paint him as a lying, dirty, racist cop and the rest is history.
