I was at the duty free in the Punta Cana airport and I bought the Cuban Havana Club 7 year rum.

The Cuban Havana Club 7 is a good rum,but understand that most Cuban rums are not distilled to be consumed neat so it will have a slight "kick" to it.
Since you are a whiskey drinker, you will likely like it.
