This is pretty much my thought process here. It's getting to be where every place I order from puts a "tip" line on the receipt. Almost like they're begging for it.

In my rationale, if they aren't bringing and refilling my drink, then they are not doing a "service". What this lady describes is doing her JOB. That's what they are paying her for. When I tip, it is based on the degree of service provided. Waitresses are doing their jobs, too, but when they do it well and with personal service, that's when it deserves a tip.
