Ruby Mountains are amazing. They are just out there in the middle of the desert, not even a part of any mountain range. Really steep and rugged peaks. That area is a little oasis. I saw the terminal cancer chute near the end of summer and wondered if you could ride it in winter. There's a video of some guys riding up it on sleds and getting air lifted off the top. I can only imagine the adrenaline rush. That climb must be around 60 degrees right up a narrow rock chute.

The Ruby Mts are fabulous. In the late 1970s, I spent a summer working out of a ranch at the base of the mountains while doing a biological assessment of the region. I would be flown to ridgetops via helicpter and conducted surveys as I hiked down to the valley...best job ever. Great bass fishing in Ruby Lake to add frosting to the cake.

OT never fails to surprise me. I didn't expect anyone on here to know about the Rubies except Roger.
