But as John Wayne called them..."Texicans."

Many of us call ourselves that. Texans. Tejanos. Texians. Texicans.
They all work.

Would you be Independant or eventually merge back with Mexico?

Independent republic.

What is the non-English speaking population in Texas? 35%????

Many Texans are bilingual and biliterate.
But sure, I think it’s fair to say a good one-third speak a language other than English at home (I don’t have any numbers on that; Google probably does).

My cousin is half-Mexican, doesn't speak any Spanish (his Mom is like 4 generation American - she doesn't even speak Spanish at all) - he went to H.S. in Texas...said he was considered White by the Mexican students because he wasn't Mexican enough.

Went to Pennsylvania for a year and attended H.S. there...

Said he was called "the Mexican kid."

Texas is its own country, I don't doubt that.

California has also become Alta Cali again. I live in a town where they fly the Mexican flag over the State Capitol next to the American flag and the California Republic flag.

We going back in time it appears.
